Steelers pleased with busy offseason, will keep options open as draft approaches

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not in the market for a quarterback.

Still, the market for quarterbacks could determine how the team approaches this week's NFL draft.

General manager Kevin Colbert called the jockeying of position for a loaded quarterback pool the "linchpin" for what direction the Steelers will take with the 15th pick in the first round. Colbert said he doesn't envision a scenario with Pittsburgh trading up, but says the team could trade down to acquire more picks if there's an interested partner hoping to grab one of the top quarterbacks.

Pittsburgh has depth issues at several positions, including wide receiver and cornerback. Colbert says he expects to find help in what he called the deepest draft he's seen in the last 30 years.
