Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Danielle Robinson nearly posted a triple- double as the San Antonio Stars downed the Phoenix Mercury, 78-74, on Friday.

Robinson totaled 14 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Stars, who have won back-to-back games after dropping their season opener.

Jia Perkins chipped in with 13 points off the bench for San Antonio, which forced 16 turnovers and only turned it over nine times.

Diana Taurasi scored 21 points, DeWanna Bonner added 15 and Brittney Griner checked in with 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks for Phoenix, who had won its first two games of the year.

The Stars led most of the way but saw their 10-point lead midway through the fourth quarter dip to two inside the final minute.

Phoenix had a chance to tie or go ahead, but Taurasi turned the ball over and Jayne Appel sank the game-clinching free throws.
