Stanford sophomore Christian McCaffrey broke the Rose Bowl record for all-purpose yards in a game in Stanford's 45-16 win over Iowa. McCaffrey gained 368 all-purpose yards on the night en route to being named Rose Bowl Offensive MVP.

The record was previously held by Wisconsin's Jared Abbrederis, who gained 346 all-purpose yards in the 2012 Rose Bowl against Oregon.

McCaffrey extended his own NCAA single-season record for all-purpose yards to 3,864 yards and became the first Stanford player to ever rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season (2,019). On the night, McCaffrey has 178 yards rushing, 105 receiving, 63 on punt returns, 28 on kick returns and scored two touchdowns.

McCaffrey also became the first player to ever gain more than 100 yards rushing and receiving in the same game in Rose Bowl history.
