Sounders beat Chivas USA after Rosales' injury

Alvaro Fernandez and Sammy Ochoa scored and the Seattle Sounders also benefited from an own goal in a 3-1 victory over Chivas USA on Saturday night.

The playoff-bound Sounders (18-7-9) won after losing midfielder Mauro Rosales to an injury early. Rosales went down in the fifth minute when he was tackled by Chivas midfielder Ben Zemanski. After remaining on the field for a lengthy spell, the Argentine was taken off on a stretcher.

Victor Estupinan got his first career goal in the 83rd minute for Chivas USA (8-14-12) to avoid the shutout.

Seattle took the lead in the 53rd minute when Chivas defender Andrew Boyens deflected a shot into the home team's net. Fernandez curled a shot into the net in the 68th to make it 2-0 and Ochoa scored five minutes later.
