Sounders add forward Cato

Seattle Sounders FC signed forward Cordell Cato 1 Visa and International Transfer Clearance (ITC).

Cato was a member of Trinidad and Tobago's team that took part in the CONCACAF U-20 Championships, while he most recently was a member of Defence Force FC in his native country.

"Cordell provides us speed and versatility as he can play on the flank and up front," said Seattle head coach Sigi Schmid. "He's a young player with a good future."

The 19-year-old trained with the Sounders last summer and is expected to take up a developmental slot on the roster.
