Sixers rally past Nets in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Nerlens Noel's slam with 3.2 seconds left lifted the Philadelphia 76ers over the Brooklyn Nets, 90-88, on Friday night.

Noel ended with 12 points for the Sixers, who ended the game on a 10-2 run. Robert Covington added 20 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute had 16 points and three steals in his return to the lineup for Philadelphia, which had lost it previous five trips to the Barclays Center. Mbah a Moute missed the past two games with turf toe.

Brook Lopez tallied 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks for the Nets, who have lost four in a row. Mason Plumlee donated 15 points and 15 boards, Jarrett Jack had 14 points and 10 assists and Joe Johnson contributed 13 points.

"It's a bad loss," Nets coach Lionel Hollins said. "We wanted to win this one. This one was at home and it was a winnable game."

Trailing 86-80, Mbah a Moute made a layup to ignite Philadelphia's game-ending surge. Covington made his third 3-pointer of the contest and Tony Wroten recorded a three-point play to make it 88-86 Sixers.

Lopez's floater tied things up with 25.3 seconds remaining. Michael Carter- Williams drove to the hoop at the other end and found Noel open under the basket for the go-ahead dunk.

"A lot of credit to Michael for creating," Noel said. "He got by his defender and I saw him driving my way. I found an open spot and he was able to find me and I finished."

Lopez's 3-pointer at the buzzer hit nothing but air.

The Nets led 32-23 after one quarter, but the Sixers chipped away in the second and got within 46-45 at the half.

Brooklyn created some distance with a 12-2 run to start the third quarter. Johnson capped the burst with a jumper to make it 58-47 with 7:11 left. The home team took a 71-64 edge into the fourth.

Game Notes

The Nets had won four in a row against Philadelphia ... Brooklyn was without guard Deron Williams (fractured rib cartilage) and forward Kevin Garnett (rest) ... Wroten had 12 points for the Sixers, who improved to 5-14 on the road this season.
