Shoulder injury could sideline Roddick for French

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Andy Roddick's injured right shoulder could force him to miss the French Open.

The American was hurt in last week's Italian Open and withdrew from the Open de Nice on Tuesday. Organizers said Roddick has pulled out of Wednesday's match against Victor Hanescu.

Roddick says he doesn't want to take risks ahead of the French Open, which starts Sunday.

The 2003 U.S. Open champion says "the situation is not perfect for Roland Garros, but I still have a couple of days to hope for something to get better."
