Seattle trades out of 1st round, picks up additional picks later in draft

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

The Seattle Seahawks traded the final pick in the first round of the NFL draft, picking up an additional second-round selection and a fourth-round pick from Minnesota.

Seattle's trade Thursday night was not a surprise considering its relative lack of picks. The Seahawks entered the draft with just six selections and would have had the fewest for the franchise since 2006.

Instead, the Seahawks traded the No. 32 overall pick to the Vikings. In exchange, Seattle got the No. 40 overall selection and picked up a fourth-round pick from Minnesota, the 108th selection overall.

Seattle became a desirable trade partner when quarterbacks started to slide in the first round of the draft. Minnesota jumped back into the first round and selected quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

Seattle is scheduled to have two second-round picks Friday.
