Schiavone, Dominguez Lino reach Marrakech final

Former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone and Lourdes Dominguez Lino were semifinal winners Saturday at the $235,000 Moroccan Grand Prix.

The sixth-seeded Italian veteran Schiavone advanced to her 17th career final with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 victory over South African Chanelle Scheepers on the red clay.

Schiavone is bidding to capture her sixth title and first since her triumph at Strasbourg last year.

Dominguez Lino, meanwhile, overcame a sluggish start to beat Luxembourg's Mandy Minella 2-6, 6-0, 6-1.

The Spaniard won titles at Bogota in 2006 and 2011.

This week's champion will claim $40,000.
