Sage Karam released from hospital after evaluations on heel and wrist following Pocono crash

Published May 03, 2016

Associated Press

Sage Karam has been released from a hospital after an evaluation of his right heel and left wrist concluded he had no broken bones.

Karam was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest on Sunday after he wrecked at Pocono Raceway. He spun by himself and crashed hard into an outside wall.

A chunk of debris from his car bounced into the cockpit of Justin Wilson and struck the British driver in the head. Wilson was in a coma listed in critical condition.

Karam said that his only concern is with Wilson.

IndyCar medical consultant Dr. Terry Trammell says Karam will be re-evaluated before he is cleared to drive again.
