Paul McGinley is not trying to reinvent the wheel at the Ryder Cup. He just wants to keep Europe rolling.

The European captain spoke in mysterious terms about a template for his team's success. It seems to be working whatever it is. Even though the teams appear evenly matched over the last two decades, Europe has won the prized trophy seven of the last nine times.

Matt Kuchar doesn't buy it. He believes it's a mere coincidence that Europe keeps winning.

The Americans have not won in Europe since 1993 when Tom Watson was captain. Watson returns at age 65 as the oldest captain in history. American players have said his singular focus all week has been simply to win.

That hasn't been easy for them.
