Russia defender Roman Shishkin withdrew from the Euro 2012 team due to acute poisoning Thursday, coach Dick Advocaat said.
The 25-year-old Shishkin, who can also play in midfield, "will definitely be unable to play at the European championship," Advocaat said.
Russia will not replace Shishkin with another defender, and Advocaat will have one more cut to make from his provisional squad to reach the final limit of 23 players.
The Russians are in Group A along with the Czech Republic, Greece and co-host Poland for the tournament, which runs from June 8 and ends July 1 in Poland and the Ukraine.
