Royals manager Yost calls out Cardinals fans, Twitter goes nuts

Shot have been fired across the state of Missouri.

Royals manager Ned Yost had some interesting things to say about the fanbase of their cross-state rival, the St. Louis Cardinals, in a recent postgame presser.

"The Missouri fans are great," Yost said when asked about the huge crowds at recent Royals game s. But of course, he had to clarify: "The St. Louis fans are great, but not as vocal and exciting as our fans."

Ouch.

As soon as those words met the keyboard, the Twitterverse was quick to chime in on Yost's comments -- and Cards fans were not kind.

Here's hoping this heated rivalry is able to meet up in the ultimate showdown, the World Series.
