Royals C Pina to have knee surgery

Royals catcher Manny Pina will head back to Kansas City this weekend to have knee surgery.

Pina suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during Wednesday's workout. He was catching during batting practice when he caught his spikes and "tweaked" the knee.

Manager Ned Yost said that Pina will be out at least four weeks.

Brayan Pena will likely start the season as the backup to regular catcher Salvador Perez.
