Marcus Rouse came off the bench to score 16 points and propel Stony Brook to a 66-52 win over Eastern Illinois Saturday.

The Seawolves (6-2) got good 3-point shooting from Rouse and Anthony Jackson. Twelve of Rouse's 16 points came on four treys in six attempts. Jackson, who scored 13 points, contributed three 3-pointers.

Josh Piper was the only Eastern Illinois player in double figures with 14 points, as his team fell to 3-6.

Stony Brook shot 20 for 49 overall (40.8 percent). Eastern Illinois made just 18 of 53 shots from the field (34 percent). But the free throw disparity proved decisive.

The Seawolves made 16 of 17 foul shots to Eastern's 6 of 7. Of the seven Seawolves who went to the line, only Tommy Brenton (11 rebounds) missed a foul shot, going 3 for 4. Starting guards Anthony Jackson and Dave Coley each went 4 for 4.
