Roddick, Isner to meet in Winston-Salem semis

Salem, NC (Sports Network) - Big-serving Americans Andy Roddick Salem Open, a final hardcourt tuneup for the U.S. Open.

The top-seeded former world No. 1 Roddick popped nine aces in a 6-1, 6-4 quarterfinal victory over seventh-seeded Argentine Juan Monaco, while the 6-foot-9 fourth-seeded Isner came from behind to beat eighth-seeded Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 on the grounds at Wake Forest University on Thursday. Isner swatted 12 aces en route to victory against the former Australian Open runner-up Baghdatis.

Roddick and Isner, a 26-year-old from nearby Greensboro, North Carolina, will meet for a fifth time, with the 2003 U.S. Open champion Roddick leading the all-time series, 3-1. Roddick topped Isner at Indian Wells earlier this season.

The Winston-Salem champion will collect $74,630.
