Rockies' Tulowitzki leads NL All-Star voting

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki leads all National League players in the first balloting results for the 2014 All-Star Game.

This year's Midsummer Classic will take place July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

Tulowitzki has received 745,823 votes, more than 105,000 ahead of St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina, who has 640,464. Both players have sizeable leads at their respective positions.

It's not even close at shortstop, as Tulowitzki's nearest pursuer is San Francisco's Brandon Crawford at 218,123, a gap of more than 527,000 votes. Molina's advantage over Giants catcher Buster Posey is just over 119,000 votes.

Philadelphia's Chase Utley is also comfortably in front at second base with a lead of more than 200,000 votes over Los Angeles' Dee Gordon.

Two other Rockies are leading their positions. Nolan Arenado is nearly 36,000 votes ahead of Milwaukee's Aramis Ramirez at third base and Charlie Blackmon is the leader for the three spots in the outfield with 549,394 votes.

The other two leading outfielders are Pittsburgh's Andrew McCutchen and Milwaukee's Ryan Braun. Miami's Giancarlo Stanton is a close fourth, trailing Braun by just over 20,000 votes.

Los Angeles' Adrian Gonzalez has a narrow lead over Atlanta's Freddie Freeman at first base with Colorado's Justin Morneau close behind.

Voting will conclude July 3. The All-Star teams will be revealed the weekend of July 5-6.
