Rockets' Howard to play Game 2

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Dwight Howard will play Game 2 of the Western Conference finals against the Warriors on Thursday.

The Rockets center injured his left knee in the series opener when he took an inadvertent shot to his left leg from teammate Josh Smith during the first quarter. He returned to start the second half but was clearly limited by the injury, as he failed to record a point after the break.

The Rockets termed Howard's injury as a sprain and listed him as questionable for Game 2.

Howard, who averaged 17.6 points and 13.9 rebounds during Houston's series win over the Los Angeles Clippers in the semifinal round, missed 41 games during the regular season due to swelling in his right knee.
