Robert Griffin III says it's a good thing to have coaches "who believe in you."
Griffin and the Washington Redskins opened training camp Thursday, and the contrast was stark from a year ago — when Griffin was recovering from knee surgery and was enduring a contentious relationship with coach Mike Shanahan.
Shanahan has been replaced by Jay Gruden, and Griffin looks and sounds like a different person.
Veteran cornerback DeAngelo Hall says, "The stress is kind of off him. Worrying about reps, worrying about a head coach that you don't really know about if he likes you, if he doesn't like you, things like that."
Griffin had a rough first practice. Bad throws and dropped passes ruled the morning in a session that began late because of steady rain.
