Rex Ryan promotes Vrable, Meyer to new roles on Bills staff

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan has promoted two assistants on his staff.

Jason Vrable takes over as an assistant quarterbacks coach after spending the previous three seasons as the team's offensive quality control coach. The promotion comes after Vrable spent part of last season working with quarterbacks coach David Lee in developing first-year starter Tyrod Taylor.

The Bills also announced Thursday that Pat Meyer is moving up to the role of offensive assistant. He spent last year serving as the team's football operations consultant, with a specific focus on working with the offensive line.
