The New York Knicks brought in Brandon Jennings this offseason, hoping he could provide a spark as a backup point guard. He's averaged 8.6 points and 4.9 assists per game, but the Knicks are making a change.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Knicks are waiving Jennings, opening up a roster spot.

Per Wojnarowski, they'll replace him with former 76ers guard Chasson Randle.

Jennings reportedly told the Knicks he wanted to play for a playoff team, according to ESPN. The Knicks are currently four games out of the eighth seed in the East and are clearly still trying to conjure up a mix of players that works.

It's been quite the fall from grace for Jennings, who was an all-rookie first-team selection with the Bucks in 2009-10 and scored 55 points in his seventh NBA game. He's since had stints with the Pistons and Magic, and now a brief one with the Knicks.
