Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford was ready to go during the Eagles' first practice of training camp, and he has held up without any issues through a few practices so far. According to ESPN's Ed Werder, the Eagles and Bradford are having discussions about a "short-term" contract extension.
Bradford is set to become a free agent after the 2015 season, but the Eagles may want to get ahead of the curve on a contract extension. If Bradford does have a breakout season in head coach Chip Kelly's quarterback-friendly offensive scheme, he could end up commanding a lot more money on the open market.
The Eagles briefly discussed a long-term contract extension with Bradford earlier in the offseason, but no deal was reached. A short-term extension could be a good compromise for both sides. Stay tuned.
