Report: Crosby still not working out

Published November 20, 2014

National Hockey League

Sidney Crosby, who last month had a setback in his recovery from a concussion, reportedly has not resumed working out.

Crosby's agent, Pat Brisson, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette by email on Thursday that Crosby "hasn't been cleared yet by the medical staff."

Crosby was diagnosed with a concussion Jan. 6 after taking big hits in Pittsburgh’s two previous games and did not play again, missing the rest of the regular season and the Penguins’ seven-game loss to Tampa Bay in the first round of the playoffs.

He resumed light workouts in late January, began skating several weeks later and started taking part in non-contact practice drills with the Penguins on March 31. He has said he was practicing at nearly full speed before he stopped working out after an April 20 practice because concussion symptoms, including headaches, returned.
