The Dallas Cowboys informed quarterback Brandon Weeden that he will no longer be the starter after the bye week, making way for veteran Matt Cassel to step in. Apparently, that's not the only the change they will be making on offense. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, a Cowboys source has informed him that the team will use running back Christine Michael more after the bye week.

During his Wednesday press conference, head coach Jason Garrett confirmed that Michael will see a larger role.

Michael, a former 2013 second-round pick, was traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Cowboys back in September. Although Michael has made a lot of noise in past preseason play, he had been unable to move up Seattle's depth chart due in part to fumbling issues and motivational concerns. Until this point, Michael has played just two offensive snaps.

The Cowboys experimented with a new backfield distribution in Week 5 following the injury to Lance Dunbar. Running back Darren McFadden operated in an expanded role, seeing the majority of third down and passing down snaps. He finished with 32 snaps, Joseph Randle saw 30 snaps and Michael saw just one snap.
