Redskins terminate contract of OT Trueblood

The Washington Redskins made a surprise move on Tuesday in order to get down to the league-mandated 75-man roster, terminating the contract of right tackle Jeremy Trueblood.

Washington had signed the Boston College product back in March, after appearing in nine games with just one start for Tampa Bay a season ago.

He had been selected by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 2006 draft, and appeared in 101 regular season games with the franchise, including 84 starts.

The Redskins also placed linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy and cornerback Ryan Mouton on the waived/injured list, waived offensive lineman Jacolby Ashworth with an injury settlement and moved defensive end Adam Carriker to the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

Carriker, who was placed on the active PUP list in late July in the wake of a third surgery on a torn right quadriceps suffered early last season, may also be lost for the 2013 campaign as he rehabilitates.
