The Washington Redskins on Thursday signed defensive lineman Marlon Favorite and placed both nose tackle Chris Neild and wide receiver Darius Hanks on injured reserve.

Favorite, who played at LSU, did not take a regular-season snap in 2011, having been signed and released by New England, Philadelphia and St. Louis before the season began.

The Louisiana native had been signed as an undrafted free agent by Carolina in 2009.

Neild's season is officially over, two days after 'Skins head coach Mike Shanahan revealed the West Virginia product suffered a torn ACL.

Neild, who injured his knee Monday, had 10 tackles and two sacks in 16 games as a rookie in 2011.
