Reds reinstate right-handed reliever Lorenzen from 60-day DL

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) The Cincinnati Reds have reinstated right-hander Michael Lorenzen from the 60-day disabled list.

Cincinnati made the move before Wednesday's game at Texas. Right-hander Alfredo Simon was put on the 15-day DL with a muscle strain, a move retroactive to June 16.

Lorenzen made four scoreless relief appearances while on a rehab assignment for Triple-A Louisville. He had been on the DL with a sprained right elbow that limited him to one spring training appearance.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Reds reinstated infielder Jordan Pacheco from the 15-day DL and outrighted him to Louisville. Pacheco refused the outright assignment and instead elected to become a free agent.
