Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Reds have placed first baseman Joey Votto on the 15-day disabled list with a left quad injury that has bothered him for most of the season.

The Reds also activated catcher Brayan Pena from the paternity leave list prior to Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

This is Votto's second stint on the DL this season. He was out from May 16- June 9 with the same injury.

Votto is hitting .255 with six homers and 23 RBI in 62 games this season.

Pena was batting .256 with three homers and 15 RBI before landing on the paternity list.
