The Boston Red Sox recalled pitcher Zach Stewart from Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday.

Stewart, who will start Wednesday's game against the LA Angels of Anaheim, was acquired from the Chicago White Sox, along with Brent Lillibridge, on June 24 in exchange for Kevin Youkilis and cash.

In two seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays and White Sox, the 25-year-old is 3-8 with a 5.92 ERA in 31 games -- 12 starts.

Boston optioned pitcher Clayton Mortensen to Double-A Portland following Tuesday's game to make room for Stewart.
