Red Sox keep roster intact for World Series

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox made no changes to their roster for the World Series.

The same 25 men won both the American League Division Series against the Rays and the American League Championship Series against Detroit.

Boston again went with 11 pitchers, including scheduled Game 1 starter Jon Lester. Also available for manager John Farrell will be Clay Buchholz, John Lackey, Jake Peavy, Craig Breslow, Ryan Dempster, Felix Doubront, Franklin Morales, Junichi Tazawa, Brandon Workman and closer Koji Uehara.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia and David Ross are the only catchers on the roster, while the infielders include Mike Napoli, Dustin Pedroia, Stephen Drew, Will Middlebrooks and Xander Bogaerts.

The outfielders again active are Jacoby Ellsbury, Shane Victorino, Daniel Nava, Jonny Gomes, Mike Carp and Quintin Berry, along with designated hitter David Ortiz.
