Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox activated right-handed pitcher Joe Kelly from the 15-day disabled list Saturday prior to his start against the New York Yankees.

Kelly, 26, began the season on the disabled list with a right biceps strain. He was 4-2 in 10 starts for the Red Sox last season after being acquired from St. Louis in July.

To make room on the roster, right-hander Steven Wright was optioned to Triple- A Pawtucket after he pitched the last five innings of Boston's 19-inning win over the Yankees, which ended at 2:13 a.m. Saturday.
