Harrison, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Red Bull New York announced on Monday that the club has signed Jamaica international defender Kemar Lawrence from Harbour View FC.

The 22-year-old has been on trial with the club since the preseason and he is expected to challenge for time at left back with current starter Roy Miller.

"We're delighted to be able to add Kemar to our club," Red Bulls sporting director Ali Curtis said in a statement. "He is a promising young player with experience at a big club in Jamaica and with the national team. His style of play fits with what we're trying to establish here."

Lawrence made 50 appearances for Harbour View since breaking into the team in 2011, while he has also earned 13 caps for Jamaica's national team, scoring two goals.
