Ravens looking to fill void left by Terrell Suggs' injury

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Baltimore coach John Harbaugh and his staff are trying to fill the void left by six-time Pro Bowl linebacker Terrell Suggs, who tore his Achilles heel during the fourth quarter of the Ravens' 19-13 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

There are players already on the roster Harbaugh believes can step in, and there are free agents available who may fit as well.

The Ravens, who are calling San Jose State home this week while preparing to play the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, hope to find answers not only to their linebacker opening, but also to improving the production of their running game and handling defensive pressure.

Suggs is expected to return home in a day or two to consult with doctors and then undergo season-ending surgery soon thereafter.
