Rangers pip Royals in 25-run slugfest

ARLINGTON, Texas (Reuters) - The Texas Rangers squandered an eight-run lead before recovering to win a 13-12 slugfest against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday.

In a hitters haven that featured seven home runs and 26 hits, the Rangers (15-14) trailed 12-11 in the eighth inning before back-to-back solo blasts from Josh Hamilton and Vladimir Guerrero game them victory.

Guerrero finished with two homers and four RBIs, Hamilton added three RBIs and closer Neftali Feliz nailed down the ninth for his seventh save of the year.

Kansas City (11-18) trailed 8-0 but fought back with two runs apiece in the fourth and fifth innings and five runs in the sixth where Scott Podsednik tied the game at 9-9 with a three-run home run.
