Rangers fall just short of no-hitter against Twins

ARLINGTON, Texas (Reuters) - The Texas Rangers came within two outs of achieving a no-hitter against the Minnesota Twins, instead settling for a 4-0 victory on Monday.

Twins catcher Joe Mauer lined a single up the middle with one out in the ninth against Texas closer Neftali Feliz to break up a no-hit bid that combined four pitchers.

Rangers starter Rich Harden tossed 6 2/3 innings before being taken out after having thrown 111 pitches and issuing five walks.

Reliever Matt Harrison finished the seventh, while Darren O'Day worked the eighth but Feliz could not finish off what could have been the sixth no-hitter in the majors this season.
