Strasbourg, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Puerto Rican Monica Puig and Spaniard Silvia Soler-Espinosa each defeated an American player Friday to reach the championship match at the Strasbourg International tennis event, a final French Open tune-up.

A pair of all-non-seed semifinals resulted with Puig handling Madison Keys 7-5, 6-3 and the qualifier Soler-Espinosa outlasting Christina McHale 5-7, 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 on the red clay at Strasbourg Tennis Club.

The promising 20-year-old Puig and 26-year-old Soler-Espinosa will appear in their first-ever WTA finals on Saturday.

Puig beat Soler-Espinosa in a second-round match at Wimbledon last year.
