Eindhoven, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - PSV Eindhoven extended its lead atop the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday thanks to a comfortable 5-0 home victory over Go Ahead Eagles.
The hosts were in front after only 14 minutes thanks to Santiago Arias' first league goal of the campaign, and Memphis Depay doubled PSV's advantage in the 33rd minute.
Go Ahead Eagles managed to stay within two until the closing stages as PSV scored three goals in the final 11 minutes to put an exclamation point at the end of the result.
Depay completed his brace with a goal in the 79th minute while Jurgen Locadia and Florian Jozefzoon bagged a goal apiece in stoppage time to finish off the rout.
The result sees PSV improve to 43 points to put the club seven points clear of second-place Ajax.
PSV also moves 14 points clear of third-place Zwolle, which squandered an early lead to suffer a disappointing 2-1 loss at Cambuur on Saturday.
Edouard Duplan netted a brace for Utrecht in a 3-0 victory at AZ Alkmaar on Saturday while Michael de Leeuw and Robin Gosens exchanged goals in Groningen's 1-1 draw at Dordrecht.
