Princeton University running back Chuck Dibilio will not return to school for the fall semester while he continues to rehabilitate from a stroke, the university announced Tuesday.

Dibilio, from Nazareth, Pa., was the 2011 Ivy League Rookie of the Year. He suffered the stroke while studying on campus on Jan. 19 and the next morning had a clot removed in the main artery of his brain.

Dibilio, who turns 20 on Wednesday, withdrew from school to concentrate on his recovery.

"Chuck has made amazing progress over the last six months, and hopefully he will make even more in the next few months," Tigers coach Bob Surace said. "While we would have loved to have him on the football field this season, I believe he is making the best decision for his future, and I'm very hopeful we will see Chuck back on campus as a student in the spring."

Dibilio set an Ivy League record for a freshman by rushing for 1,068 yards last season. He also scored eight touchdowns and was named to the Ivy League first team.

Princeton's first Ivy rookie of the year since 1983 finished fifth in the voting for the 2011 Jerry Rice Award, which honors the FCS freshman of the year.
