Prescott's 15 points, 4 3-pointers, help Mount St. Mary's defeat George Washington 65-56

Sam Prescott scored 15 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Mount St. Mary's to a 65-56 nonconference victory over George Washington on Monday night.

A 3-pointer by Prescott with 3:51 remaining gave the Mountaineers (2-3) a 58-54 lead and began a 6-0 run. Julian Norfleet followed with a layup after a steal by Rashad Whack.

Whack had four steals as the Colonials (2-3) turned the ball over 25 times to Mount St. Mary's 18.

George Washington led by four, 28-24, with 3:23 left in the first half, but the Mountaineers turned the margin around by scoring the last eight points of the half, including 3-pointers by Shivaughn Wiggins and Prescott.

Norfleet finished with 12 points and Wiggins 11 for the Mountaineers, who had lost 23 of their past 24 nonconference road games.

Lasan Kromah scored 18 for George Washington, and Isaiah Armwood had 15 points and 11 rebounds.
