New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Major League Soccer announced Tuesday that Portland Timbers midfielder Rodney Wallace has been named Comeback Player of the Year for the 2014 season.
Wallace missed the first 16 regular-season matches of 2014 while recovering from offseason knee surgery.
The 26-year-old returned to action on June 27 against Sporting Kansas City and went on to produce five goals and one assist in 17 appearances, providing the Timbers with a spark in their pursuit of a playoff berth.
