New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Portland Timbers forward Fanendo Adi was named the Player of the Week on Monday for Week 14 of the 2014 Major League Soccer season.

The 23-year-old Adi tallied a pair of first-half goals for the Timbers in a 3-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday, giving him four goals in his last three games.

With the Timbers trailing RSL 1-0 in the 36th minute, Adi headed home a corner kick from Diego Valeri to level the match. He then put Portland up 2-1 shortly before halftime when he pounced on a rebound from Darlington Nagbe's shot to slot home the winning goal from eight yards.

Since joining Portland on loan from FC Copenhagen in May, Adi has netted four goals with two assists in five matches.

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from the North America Soccer Reporters (NASR). The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
