Verona, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Eros Pisano's own goal 13 minutes from time handed Hellas Verona a 2-1 comeback win over Palermo on Monday, giving the club four points from its first two Serie A games.
Franco Vazquez scored after 18 minutes to put Palermo into the lead, but after Luca Toni equalized from the penalty spot late in the first half, Pisano redirected a cross into his own net, giving Hellas its first win of the campaign.
A shot from Francesco Bolzoni in the 18th minute led to the opening goal as Hellas goalkeeper Rafael parried the effort into the path of Vazquez, who prodded the ball home from close range.
However, Hellas was back on level terms four minutes before the break when Toni was fouled inside the penalty area by Palermo's Sinisa Andelkovic, allowing the Italian to notch his first goal of the season from the spot.
After drawing 0-0 with Atalanta in its opening match, Hellas then secured the win 13 minutes from the final whistle when Pisano turned a cross past his own goalkeeper, Stefano Sorrentino, forcing the team to head home without a point.
