Pirates place Bastardo on paternity list

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates placed pitcher Antonio Bastardo on the paternity list prior to Monday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Bastardo, acquired from the Phillies in December, has a 6.43 ERA in just seven innings this season.

The Pirates recalled left-hander Bobby LaFromboise from Triple-A Indianapolis to take the empty spot in the bullpen. He made six appearances for the Pirates last season, allowing one run in 3 2/3 innings.
