Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Charlie Morton won't make his next start, the announced on Friday.

Morton pitched Tuesday for the first time since being sidelined for a month by a sports hernia. He held Boston scoreless over five innings, but experienced increased discomfort near the end of his outing and again in Thursday's bullpen session.

The team said Morton will undergo a medical examination next week.

Vance Worley will start in place of Morton on Sunday against Milwaukee.
