Pirates claim Hisanori Takahashi off waivers

The Pittsburgh Pirates claimed relief pitcher Hisanori Takahashi off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Takahashi went 0-3 with a 4.93 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 42 relief appearances for the Angels this season.
The 37-year-old is 14-12 with a 3.80 ERA in 156 career games (12 starts) with the New York Mets and Angels.
Takahashi went 79-66 with a 3.70 ERA in 245 games (202 starts) from 2000 to 2009 with the Yomiuri Giants of the Japanese Central League.
