Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates called up their top prospect, outfielder Gregory Polanco, from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs.

Polanco, rated the No. 12 overall prospect in the majors by MLB.com, was hitting .347 with 17 doubles, five triples, seven home runs, 49 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 62 minor league games this season.

The move comes one day after the Pirates placed second baseman Neil Walker on the 15-day disabled list. He underwent an appendectomy Monday night.
