Phillies place Polanco on DL

The Philadelphia Phillies placed third baseman Placido Polanco on the 15-day disabled list with lower back inflammation. The move is retroactive to July 23.

Polanco is hitting .255 with two homers and 19 RBI in 82 games this season.

The Phillies will make a corresponding roster move on Friday.
