Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Jordan Gross made it official and announced his retirement on Wednesday.

"It's been everything I thought it would be and more," Gross said.

Gross was selected by Carolina with the eighth overall pick of the 2003 NFL draft and started all 167 games he played during his 11-year career with the Panthers.

The 33-year-old Utah product appeared in all 16 games last season, helping the Panthers capture the NFC South title, and was selected to his third Pro Bowl.

Gross started all 16 games in a season eight times during his career. He had his 2009 campaign cut short after nine games because of a broken ankle and missed one game in each of the 2008 and 2011 seasons.
