Panthers RB Stewart to start against Seahawks with Williams sidelined with ankle injury

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams is inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, marking the fourth straight game the franchise's all-time leading rusher is out due to a high ankle sprain.

Jonathan Stewart will start for the Panthers.

Carolina's other inactives include wide receiver Philly Brown, running back Fozzy Whittaker, guards Amini Silatolu and Trai Turner, linebacker Chase Blackburn and cornerback Bene Benwikere. All seven Panthers inactives were ruled out on Friday due to injuries.

There are no surprise inactives for the Seahawks. That list includes tight end Zach Miller, wide receiver Bryan Walters, cornerback Byron Maxwell, center Max Unger, tackle Andrew McDonald and defensive tackle Jordan Hill.
