Padres select infielder Medica

The San Diego Padres have selected the contract of infielder Tommy Medica from Double-A San Antonio, general manager Josh Byrnes announced Tuesday.

Medica, a 14th-round draft pick of the Padres in 2010, will be in uniform for Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The 25-year old hit .296 with 18 home runs and 57 RBI in 76 games for San Antonio. Medica was named the Padres minor league Hitter of the Month in July.

With this move, the Padres' 40-man roster is now full.
